Ever since the release of the song “Beyonce Sharma Jayegi” from Khaali Peeli, the makers and writers of this song are facing a lot of heat. Netizens are slamming the creators for creating a song that promotes racism. And now it seems like the makers of Ishaan Khattar and Ananya Pandey starrer song might be in legal trouble as they didn’t seek the permission of Beyonce before using her name.
Additionally, the pop queen, Beyonce had trademarked her name over a decade ago to stop the commercials from using her name. Along with her, she also successfully managed to trademark her daughter Blue Ivy’s name.
Therefore, the makers are thinking of rewriting the lyrics of this song to avoid any legal trouble. A source close to the production house said, “In a pre-emptive move, the makers are now planning to rewrite the song to avoid legal repercussions. A final call will be taken this week. With the dance number being called out for racism, it will be an unwise move to take on an international star like Beyonce, especially at a time when the Black Lives Matter movement has set the stage for equality.”
