India lost yet another gem due to the global health pandemic. We lost the Flying Sikh Milkha Singh at late night on Friday due to the Covid-19 complications. A few hours back, reports came that his condition is quite critical but he failed to recover and now the legendary Indian sprinter is no more.
He was admitted to the hospital last month as well but that time he came home safely. On June 3, his oxygen level dropped drastically and he was taken to the Covid ward in the Nehru Hospital. Earlier this week, Milkha Singh even tested negative for the deadly virus. However, his condition began to get worse after he was shifted into the medical ICU ward.
Several celebrities and politicians including our PM Narendra Modi took to their social media handles to mourn the death of Milkha Singh. The Flying Sikh won gold and other medals for the nation in 200m and 400m sprint and relay. One of his most memorable moments came in Rome when he made a new record.
