Last year when Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced that he would be making Gangubai Kathiwadi with Alia Bhatt in the lead role, he also announced that he would make Baiju Bawra. Later it was revealed that Ranbir Kapoor would play the lead role in this film and the Sawariya duo will reunite again.
Now according to the latest reports, Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone might play female leads in this film. Deepika Padukone is a favorite actress of SLB there is no doubt in it, but nowadays he is highly impressed with the work of Alia as well. As a result, he offered this film to two of the leading ladies of Bollywood and both of them loved their parts.
The film is a remake of the 1952 drama and Alia Bhatt will be stepping into the shoes of Meena Kumari. Deepika Padukone will play the other female lead. The second lead male actor in this film is yet to revealed.
