The past few months changed the whole landscape of Bollywood. There was a time when every creator wants their films to release in big theatres. However, now everyone is opting for their film to release on the OTT platform instead of a theatrical release. And the latest addition in the list of these films is Ali Abbas Zafar’s Khaali Peeli.
The makers originally wanted to hold their film back for a theatrical release. But then it was rumored that the film will release on Netflix. However, now it was confirmed that Ishaan Khattar and Ananya Pandey starrer Khaali Peeli will release on Zee5.
According to the reports, Netflix and Zee5 both were in talks with the production to buy the digital rights of the film. However, in the end it was Zee5 who bagged the deal.
The makers are quite concerned are how the audience will respond in the post-COVID times. And they were also unsure whether they will go to the theatres to watch the film or not. So they decided to make a deal with an OTT platform.
