After a report filed by the Legal Rights Observatory (LRO), the Income Tax (IT) Department has opened an investigation against the famous actor and singer, Diljit Dosanjh. The cause of this investigation is the funds transferred by him to support the farmer’s protest. Famous music label Speed Records is also involved in the investigation for the same reason.
Both Diljit Dosanjh and Speed Records provided funds to help farmers in the ongoing protest. There was also news that Diljit Dosanjh has donated Rs. 1 Crore for the farmers to buy the winter wear essentials for the farmers. Last December, LRO filed a complaint based on the research shared by Vijay Patel. He claimed that Speed records are involved in Money Laundering and routing operations against the law firm.
Diljit Dosanjh has been supporting the farmers from the very start of this protest. The IT Department already raided the house of several Punjabi stars and some suspected companies back in 2012.
