Last year, one of the most versatile directors of the Bollywood industry, Sanjay Leela Bhansali back to back announced two films. The first one is Gangubai Kathiawadi in which he already cast Alia Bhatt as a lead. And the second one is the remake of Baiju Bawra. Earlier there were rumors that Ranveer Singh will appear in it. However, now the reports confirmed that SLB will be casting Ranbir Kapoor as a lead actor in that film.
Ranveer was in talks with the director to collaborate on this project. However, it didn’t happen. And after that Sanjay Leela Bhansali decided to lock Ranbir Kapoor for one of the two main characters of Baiju Bawra. Ranbir will portray Baiju whereas Tansen is yet to be cast.
However, both of them didn’t lock any dates for the project. They are all quite busy ever since they get permission for filming after the production shutdown. It is speculated that Baiju Bawra will go on floors by the end of 2021.
