The Indian film industry loses its another gem yesterday. Famous music director and composer Mohinder Singh Sarna, aka S. Mohinder, died on September 6, 2020, in Mumbai. The director was 95 years old. He is an example of another common man from a small town who made big in the music industry only because of their passion.
He was born in a town named Sillanwali in 1925. Most of his family members served in the Indian police force. However he had a keen interest in music from a very young age, therefore he began his training to make his career in the music industry.
He worked with Lahore radio as a singer and after that, he moved to Mumbai during the riots of 1947. But the film Neeli starring Dev Anand in 1949 turned out to be a turning point in his career. From 1962 to 2000 he composed several songs for the Punjab music industry.
